1.     THE’S 2ND  EDITION OF IMPACT RANKINGS 2020: According to Times Higher Education (THE)’s 2nd edition of Impact rankings 2020, which has ranked 766 universities from 85 countries, The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur is ranked 57th with a score of 87.9 among global universities. The list is topped by the University of Auckland, New Zealand with a score of 98.5, followed by  University of Sydney (98.1), Western Sydney University(97.9) in Australia.
2.     IIFL WEALTH ACQUIRES THE ENTIRE HOLDINGS OF LTCM: IIFL Wealth Management has acquired entire (100%) equity shares of Larsen & Toubro Capital Markets(LTCM), a wholly-owned subsidiary of L&T Finance Holdings for Rs 230 crores plus available cash balance of LTCM after  receiving requisite regulatory approvals. IIFL Wealth Management is an investment and financial advisor to over 5,600 influential families in  high net worth individuals (HNIs) and ultra HNI segments in India and abroad, with aggregate assets of more than 24 billion dollars under management.

1.    COLOUR CODES FOR LOCKDOWN 2.0: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) formulated a new set of guidelines for the nationwide lockdown-2.0 or Smart Lockdown, which started from 20th April 2020 and continues till May 3, 2020. It decided to divide all Indian districts into hotspots (red zones); non-hotspots (orange zones) and green zones on the basis of the absolute number of cases and the speed of growth in cases. Any district reporting more than six cases classified as a hotspot district or red zone.

2.    RAPID TESTING FOR COVID-19: Rajasthan became the first state in the country to carry out Rapid Testing for COVID 19. State’s urban primary health centre of Topkhana Desh (also known as Jaju Dispensary) in Jaipur started rapid tests at 5 p.m where 52 persons were tested and all were found COVID-19 negative. This test will be done at a large scale to assess the prevalence of COVID 19 in hotspots or red zones. This test requires a drop of blood just like a diabetes test and gives instant results. Though this is not a confirmatory test but helps in quick isolation of person tested COVID-19 positive to prevent spread.

3.    7,300 CRORE RUPEES TO STATE & UTS UNDER MGNREGS: The Central Government has released 7,300 crore rupees to the States and Union Territories (UT) under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) to liquidate pending dues of last financial year but also the wages dues for the first fortnight of 2020-21.

4.    TVS MOTOR ACQUIRES NORTON MOTORCYCLES: TVS (Thirukkurungudi Vengaram Sundram) Motor Company Ltd,  an Indian multinational motorcycle company, has acquired the 122-year-old  iconic British company Norton Motorcycle (UK) Ltd for Rs 153 crore (£16 million).

5.    EROS &  STX ENTERTAINMENT TO MERGE ALL SHARE: 1st  of its kind deal, where Indian movie producer and distributor Eros International (which is also the holding company of the Lulla’s-promoted Eros Group) a NYSE-listed announced an all-share merger with 6 year old, privately held Hollywood’s STX Entertainment to create an equally-held global entertainment company with a value of USD 1 billion.

6.    WORLD HERITAGE DAY 2020: APRIL 18: Theme for the year 2020: Shared Culture, Shared Heritage and Shared Responsibility.

7.    SOUTH KOREAN ELECTION: The Democratic Party  of South Korean President Moon Jae-in has won victory in parliamentary elections, with 163 seats in the 300-seat National Assembly, first country conducted election among COVID-19 pandemic. The capital and currency of South Korea is Seoul and South Korean won respectively

8.    DEVELOPMENT OF COVID-19 VACCINE: Central government has constituted high level  task force for vaccine and drug testing for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) co-chaired by Vinod Paul, member NITI (National Institution for Transforming India) Aayog, and Professor Krishnaswamy VijayRaghavan, principal scientific advisor to the government.

1.    ‘BHARAT PADHE ONLINE’ CAMPAIGN: HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ launched a week-long ‘Bharat Padhe Online’ campaign in New Delhi for crowd sourcing of ideas so as to improve the online education ecosystem of India, the main target audiences is teachers & students.

2.    G20 EXTRAORDINARY ENERGY MINISTERS VIRTUAL MEETING: Dharmendra Pradhan has attended the G20 Extraordinary Energy Ministers’ virtual meeting 2020 on behalf of India through video conferencing. The meeting was presided over by Saudi Arabia, Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz.

3.    FIRST STATION OF IR TO INSTALL SANITIZING TUNNEL: The Ahmedabad railway station at Kalupur, Gujarat of Western Railway became the first station of Indian Railways (IR) to install a Walk Through Mass Sanitizing Tunnel to ensure the safety of staff and passengers in the view of the COVID-19. The tunnel was inaugurated by Ahmedabad DRM (Divisional Railway Manager) Deepak Jha. The sanitization system runs  on the principle of Vaporization process which converts the sanitizer mixture into vapor which forms a uniform layer over the surface & dries up quickly.

1. ‘CARUNA’ TO FIGHT COVID-19: Associations representing officers of Central Civil Services, including the IAS and IPS, have created an initiative called „Caruna [Civil Services Associations Reach to Support in Natural Disasters] to assist and supplement the governments efforts to battle against Corona Virus (COVID-19).
2. UBERMEDIC TO PROVIDE SERVICES TO HEALTHCARE WORKERS: National Health Authority (NHA) partnered with Uber India to provide 24/7 free UberMedic transport services to Indias frontline healthcare workers and hospitals engaged in the treatment of COVID-19 patients. Initially, Uber will facilitate the provision of 150 cars free of cost to support medical facilities in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Patna via UberMedic service.
3. IAF TRANSPORTS 6.2 TONS MEDICINES TO MALDIVES: Coronavirus (COVID 19) is causing terrible havoc in the country and the world at this time. So Indian Air Force (IAF) has launched „Operation Sanjeevani and air-lifted 6.2 tonnes of essential medical supplies to the Maldives via transport aircraft C-130J as assistance in fight against the virus.
4. PIB SETS UP COVID-19 FACT CHECK UNIT: A COVID-19 Fact Check Unit (FCU) has been constituted in the Press Information Bureau (PIB) under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting to prevent dissemination of fake facts and news related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The unit is headed by the PIB Director General (DG), Nitin Wakankar.
5. INDIA’S 1ST HOME SCREENING TEST KIT FOR COVID-19: Bengaluru based startup Bione, a genetic and microbiome testing firm has launched Indias 1st home screening test kit for COVID-19 & is approved by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). To take the test using the kit one has to clean the finger with an alcohol swab and use the lancet provided to finger-prick & the provided cartridge reads the results within 5-10 minutes.

1.   INDIAN ARMY LAUNCHES OPERATION NAMASTE: COVID-19: Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane launched ‘Operation Namaste’ initiative to protect 1.3 million strong forces from coronavirus and provide all possible assistance to the government to control the pandemic.

2.   JICA SIGNS NEW AGREEMENT WITH INDIA: Japanese government funding agency (JICA) signs an agreement worth Rs 15,295 crore with India to provide an Official Development Assistance (ODA) for 3 rail infrastructure projects. Japanese ODA loans are long-term low-interest-rate loans advanced to the developing countries. JICA granted Rs 8,553 crore for Dedicated Freight Corridor(phase-1); Rs 4,262 crore for  Mumbai Trans Harbour Link Project(II) and Rs 2,480 crore for the Mumbai Metro Line 3 Project(III)

3.   REPORT ‘BOOM & BUST 2020’: In accordance with a report titled “Boom and Bust 2020:Tracking the Global Plant Pipeline” 47.4 GW coal-fired power projects at different stages were cancelled in India in 2019 which reduced total under development of coal capacity to 66 GW.

4.   NATO 30TH MEMBER: The Republic of North Macedonia has inducted officially as the 30th and newest member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). This membership comes after North Macedonia’s 2017 deal with Greece under which the former changed its name from Macedonia (a name same as Greek province). After the name change, Greece agreed to drop objections to its NATO and European Union (EU) membership.

5.   IMF LAUNCHES GOVERNMENT POLICY TRACKER: COVID-19: International Monetary Fund (IMF) has launched a policy tracker to track the policies of the governments so as to share knowledge about COVID-19 which helps to tackle the crisis. It focuses on discretionary actions to support existing social safety nets & insurance mechanisms.

Today in this article we are going to share the complete list of Medals won by India in the commonwealth games in the various games. In the medals tally list India finished on third number by winning 66 Total medals in commonwealth games. There are total 66 medals which includes 26 gold, 20 silver and 20 bronze medals. 
In the Medal tally list Australia is on Number 1 position by winning 198 total medals (80 Gold, 59 Silver and 59 Bronze) after that England is on 2nd spot by winning 136 Medals (45 Gold, 45 Silver and 46 Bronze). This is really a proud moment for all Indian to stand on Number 3 position in this tally list. Congrats to all the winners.
