UPSC Preliminary Exam Syllabus :
1.In this Examination, there are 2 papers, which are called as General Studies Paper-I and General Studies Paper-II.

2. These 2 papers are objective in nature with all multiple choice type questions.

3. Each paper is for 200 marks and will be available in two languages of Hindi and English.

4. Selection Committee will give two hours time duration for each paper. In exceptional cases, aspirants will get extra time of 20 minutes in each paper.

5. Minimum qualifying marks for UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination General Studies Paper-II is 33%.
UPSC Preliminary Examination Paper – I Syllabus :
In UPSC Preliminary Examination Paper - I, questions will be asked from the topics of Current Affairs of national and international events, topics from General Science, Environmental Ecology, General questions on the topic of climate change, Biodiversity, History of India, Physical Geography of India, Social Geography of India, Economic Geography of India, Public Policy, Panchayati Raj, Constitution, Public Policy, Poverty, Demographics, Social sector etc.

UPSC Preliminary Examination Paper – II Syllabus :
In UPSC Preliminary Examination Paper - II, questions will be asked from the topics of General Mental ability, Problem solving and Decision making, Comprehension, Numeracy, Data interpretation i.e. questions from graphs, charts, data sufficiency, tables etc (Tenth class standard level), logical reasoning, analytical ability, interpersonal skills.

UPSC Main Examination Syllabus
Department will consider your rank based on UPSC Main Examination and Personality test (Interview). Total marks allocated for UPSC Main Examination is 1750 and for Personality test (Interview) is 275 marks. This UPSC Main Examination comprise of nine papers. Department will consider only seven papers for final ranking. This UPSC Main Examination is totally written exam. It consists the papers given below.

A)  Paper A - Total marks allocated for this paper is 300. In this, candidate will select any one Indian language.

B) Paper B - Total marks allocated for this paper also 300. Language is English.
Important Points :
  1. Paper A is in Indian languages and Paper B is in English language respectively. Questions will be in matriculation level.
  2. Candidates must appear in both UPSC Preliminary Examination Paper - I and UPSC Preliminary Examination Paper - II otherwise, candidates will be disqualified.
  Syllabus for Interview :
  1. Aspirants who will be passed in UPSC Main examination only appear for Personality test (Interview).
  2. Department board members will ask topics on general matters.
  3. It is better to browse internet to get tips for Personality test (Interview) round.
  4. Answer the questions in the interview round with confident.

SBI Preliminary Exam is an objective type with all multiple choice type questions. Total marks allocated for this section are 100. Department will conduct this exam in online mode only. It has 3 sections as follows. Time duration is one hour.

Phase II : SBI PO Main Examination 2016
SBI PO Main Exam will comprise of an objective type test and descriptive type test. Objective type test is for 200 marks and descriptive type test is for 25 marks. Department will conduct these both tests in online mode only. After completing online objective test, department will conduct descriptive test for all candidates. Expected questions in main exam are 155 only. Main exam is for time duration of 3 hours.
Expected Pattern of Objective Test :  :
Time duration for objective type test is 3 hours. It will comprise of four sections. Each section has individual timings. It is for 200 marks. Aspirants must qualify in each test. So there is individual cut off marks in this section.

Expected Pattern of Descriptive Test :
Department will conduct a descriptive type test for 25 marks in the time duration of 30 minutes. There is English language test (Essay and letter writing). Marks to qualify this test will be decided by the bank.
Negative Marking :  :
There is a negative marking for each wrong answer type question. Department will reduce 0.25 marks for each wrong answer questions. Answer for all questions, if you put blank answer for a question i.e. no answer will be marked by applicant, then there is no penalty for that type of question.
Phase III: GD & Interview
Aspirants who will be secured pass marks in main examination, will be informed for Group Discussion and interview rounds. So merit list of candidates will be prepared by department on the basis of marks secured in Main examination (Phase II) i.e. both descriptive test and objective test.

Preparation Methods:

6. Practise one to thirty tables, one to fifty squares, cubes etc so that you will complete this section fast during exam.
7. Concentrate more on the topics of Simplification, Profit and Loss, Percentages, Averages, Ratio's. Spend time to solve the questions on these topics. Learn tips and easy methods in these topics.
8. Time factor plays a major role for all candidates in these type of examinations. You have to do calculations in problems with a little bit speed.
Note:
Speed is tough to get over night. You have to work on this section daily basis. Please spend some time on it daily. You should complete the answers in less than 60 seconds (one minute). Solve model papers, previous years papers, practice questions etc again and again.

Interview Process :
Based on number of posts and high ranking in main exam, candidates will be called for an interview process in the ration of three candidates for each post. Applicants who will be scored qualifying marks in interview round to be allowed for final selection. There is a relaxation for SC/ST/PWD/OBC/XS category candidates i.e. up to 5%. So the final selection of candidates would be depended on main examination and interview round taken together.
Must Follow Tips:
A)&nbspCandidates who are writing their final year examination are also eligible for SBI clerk Recruitment 2016. But they have to produce the certificate of passing the degree examination if called for an interview process.

B) For all other candidates, committee will conduct a language test before final selection or at interview time.

C)  Final merit list will be prepared by committee based on marks scored in Main Examination and Interview rounds only. Committee will not add Marks scored in Preliminary Examination to merit list.

D)  Committee will upload interview call letters on Bank's official website (link given below) after declaration of online test results.

Application Fee :

There is no application fee for all candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, Ex-Servicemen and women candidates. Rs. 100/- (One hundred only) for all other candidates.

Verification of Documents :

There is a document verification for all candidates. It is mandatory for all. Candidates failing to do so shall not consider for final selection Process. Candidates are required to submit all original certificates for verification at document verification round.

  • To apply for Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam 2016, candidates may log on to official website and apply online.
  • Candidates should keep the registration number assigned to them online. There is no need to submit print out of their application forms.
  • The application will accept provisionally only.

  • General Intelligence & Reasoning : It has the questions of both verbal and non-verbal. It has the questions on Analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc.
  • General Awareness : Question of this type will be aimed to test the general awareness of candidates around him. It will be conducted to test the knowledge of scientific aspects, current events. This test will include questions belonging to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific research etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.
  • Numerical Aptitude : The questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The scope of the test will be the computation of whole numbers, decimals and fractions and relationships between numbers.
  • English Comprehension : Candidates ability to understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc would be tested. Questions will be asked from error recognition, Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Synonyms, Antonyms, fill in the blanks, Sentence Structure, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, one word substitution, conversion into direct/indirect narration, shuffling of sentence parts, shuffling of sentences, improvement of sentences, active/passive voice of verbs etc.

Combined Graduate Level Examination Tier II is an Objective Type Multiple Choice. Questions will be from Arithmetic Ability - 200 Questions for 200 marks ; English Language & Comprehension - 200 Questions for 200 marks ; Commerce/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Economics - 200 Questions for 200 marks. Total Duration/ Timing for General candidates is 2 hours. Total Duration/Timing for Visually Handicapped candidates is 2 hours 40 minutes.

SSC CGL Syllabus 2016 For Tire 2nd :


  • Arithmetic Ability : This Arithmetic Ability paper consists problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental Arithmetical Operations, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Average, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Use of Table and Graphs, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time etc.
  • English Language & Comprehension : Error recognition, fill in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles etc), Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, one word substitution, improvement of sentences, active/passive voice of verbs, conversion into direct/indirect narration, shuffling of sentence parts, shuffling of sentences etc.
  • Commerce/Mathematics/Statistics/Economics : For Investigator Grade-II, for Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation and Compiler for Registrar General of India, Ministry of Home Affairs.
Pattern For SSC CGL Syllabus 2016 Tier 3 :


It will be conducted in 3 sections. Interview Session, Computer Test, Skill test. Those aspirants who qualify in above papers shall be eligible to be considered for Personality Test/ Interview and/or Skill Test.

  • Statistics - Probability, Probability Distributions, Binomial, Poisson, Normal, Exponential. Compilation, classification, tabulation of Statistical Data, Graphical presentation of data etc.
  • Economics - General Economics, Indian Economics and General Statistics.
  • Mathematics - Algebra, Algebra of Matrices, Analytic Geometry, Differential Equation, Differential and Integral Calculus, Statics.
