Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship

The Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) is inviting applications from outstanding engineers to encourage, support and recognise translational research and achieve excellence in innovation, engineering and technology development.

Eligibility: The applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and an adequate professional qualification and should possess minimum five years of service left at the parent organisation as on the date of award.

Details: Fellowship amount of ~25,000 per month along with the regular income will be awarded along with the Research grant of ~15 lakh per annum to be utilised for engineering, research and innovation activities.

Sanskriti-Kalakriti Fellowship

This fellowship is for young performing artists who have interest towards dance and want to explore their skills in the field.

Eligibility: Candidates between the age of 25 to 40 years having at least 10 years of training in Indian classical dance and must have given at least 2-3 solo performances to their credit in recognized forums.

Details: A grant of ~50,000 will be given in two instalments.

Scholarship Entrance Examination (AIYSEE)

The Ministry of Finance has come up with this scholarship to assist young citizens and help their family from the clutches of poverty by excelling in academics.

Eligibility: Class XII pass or appearing candidates between 2014 and 2019 session, who are appearing for engineering and medical examination, with minimum 55 per cent score in AIYSEE 2019, can apply for this call.

Details: Varying scholarship award to medical and engineering students with varying time duration, depending on the course of the program. Laptops, kindle and tablets will be given to the ones meeting the cut-offs.

College Board India Scholars Programme

Students who take the SAT for university admission in India, post Class XII, are given an opportunity to avail the benefits under this invite. The call offers a free SAT test in December 2018 and full tuition scholarship at leading Indian universities.

Eligibility: For a free SAT in December 2018, the applicant must be an Indian resident with annual family income less than INR 6L and must be in class 12. To be considered eligible for full college tuition scholarship, the applicant's family income should be below INR 4L p.a. and is in class 12 in the current academic session. The student must have performed good in SAT to secure admission in the partnered Indian universities.

Details: Free SAT examination worth ~7,000 and full tuition scholarship for any of the partnered Indian universities.

JN Tata Endowment

Graduate candidates, who aspire to study abroad with post-graduation, doctoral or post-doctoral programmes from any stream from a recognized university or institution, can apply for this scholarship.

Eligibility: The applicant must have secured at least 60 per cent in the last academic examination. Mid-career professionals are also welcomed under this call, of age not older than 45 years, with a good academic record and experience in their fields.

Details: This one-time loan scholarship ranges between ~1,00,000 and ~10,00,000. The selected scholars may also be recommended for a gift scholarship up to ~7,50,000 and partial travel assistance up to ~50,000 from allied Trusts, as decided.

Cyber Shikshaa Skill Scholarship

Women engineering graduates, who are interested in pursuing their career in cyber security, are invited by Microsoft & Data Security Council of India (DSCI) to apply for this scholarship, and be a part of their four-month free training programme. The programme shall also provide placement assistance. The scholarship opportunity is applicable for the Cyber Shikshaa centers located at Noida, UP and Mohali, Punjab.

Eligibility: Applicants, who have done graduation in engineering (any stream), or MCA, or MSc (IT or CS) or MTech and are aged between 21 and 26 years with annual family income not exceeding ~7 lakh, are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Details: Financial aid for training, through Microsoft CSR Programme; placement assistance and an opportunity to learn and get mentored through course designed by industry experts in cyber security. Deadline: December 25, 2018

Education scheme for SC students

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, is inviting applications from students belonging to SC category pursuing full-time degree course from recognised institute.

Eligibility: Applicants, whose annual family income is not more than ~6 lakh, will be considered eligible for this scholarship.

Details: Full tuition fee and non-refundable charges of ~2 lakh p.a. for studying in private sector institution, ~3.72 lakh p.a. for the private sector flying clubs for commercial pilot training, ~2,220 p.m. for lodging, ~3,000 p.a. for stationery expenses and ~45,000 for computer and accessories.

National means-cum-merit scholarship

The Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development, is offering scholarship to meritorious students of Class IX, who are impoverished.

Eligibility: Students, who have scored at least 55 per cent or equivalent in Class VII and VIII with annual family income not exceeding ~1.50 lakh, are eligible for this scholarship. 5 per cent relaxation is given to SC/ST students.

The Department of Science and Technology (DST), is inviting meritorious students, who are undertaking BSc, BS, Int.MSc or MS degree course in Basic and Natural Science to apply for this scholarship.

Eligibility: Class XII 12 with aggregate marks within the top 1 per cent of the class and among 1000 rank holders in JEE of IIT or AIPMT.

Young Artistes scholarship

The Centre for Cultural Resources and Training under the Ministry of Culture is calling out to upcoming young artistes, who intend to do advanced training in the fields of Indian classical music, Indian classical dance, theatre, mime, visual art, folk, traditional & indigenous arts, light classical music and others, to apply for this scholarship.

Eligibility: Applicants, who have underwent at least five-year training with their Guru or institutes and are falling in the age group of 18 to 25 years, are considered eligible. Basic knowledge in the above-mentioned field is necessary.

Details: Selected ones will be granted for a period of two years a sum of ~5,000 per month, which includes living expenses, travelling, books, art material or other equipment and tuition or training charges, if any.

1). Water Advanced Research and Innovation Fellowship Program (WARI)

GoI, University of Nebraska Lincoln, Daugherty Water for Food Institute and IUSSTF have partnered and are offering the fellowship to bright students and scientists focusing on research and capacity building in the area of water as a fundamental importance for human development, the environment and the economy.

Eligibility: For internship, one must be pursuing doctorate in Water Science and Engineering of age less than 32 years. For the fellowship, one must be having doctoral degree in Water Science and Engineering and able to do independent research and have publications in academic journals of international recognition. The applicants age should not be more than 40 years and can be from the field of water resources, water chemistry and environmental engineering.

Details: A total of 5 interns and 5 fellows will be selected who will be felicitated with monthly stipend

2). NCERT Doctoral Fellowships

NCERT has declared this fellowship call open for young scholars to pursue doctoral research in education and related discipline from any recognized university or research institution of one's choice.

Eligibility: Doctoral degree holders with minimum 60% in both the graduation and postgraduation of age not more than 35 years. The applicant must have completed a UGC approved course of pre-doctoral research methodology or have enrolled for the same.

Details: INR 23K p.m. will be given to non-NET qualified candidates and INR 25K p.m. to the NET qualified fellows, an annual contingency grant of INR 10K p.a. and paid fellowship programme tours which includes accommodation, IIIAC fare and RIE hostel facility.

3). LAPA Fellows Programme at Princeton University

Princeton University's Program in Law and Public Affairs (LAPA) is offering independent scholars, lawyers, outstanding faculty members of any discipline and judges to apply for the residential fellowship 2019-2020, which requires them to dedicate most of their time to their own research and writing on law related subjects of empirical, interpretative, doctrinal, normative significance.

Eligibility: Doctorate, juris doctor or an equivalent professional degree holder, who can demonstrate substantial expertise in law related matter, are applicable for this call. Details: Selected fellows will receive one half of their ten month salary at their home institution each year till the selection is done. Also, they will be residing in Princeton University, USA and will be participating in LAPA programs.
