UKSSSC Recruitment 2026 379 Vacancies, Advt No. 79/2026

The Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) has rolled out a fresh Group-C recruitment drive on 21 July 2026, opening up 379 posts of Accountant, Assistant Accountant, Office Assistant-III (Accounts), and Cashier-cum-Assistant Accountant across several state departments. If you hold a commerce degree and have been waiting for a stable government accounts job in Uttarakhand, this notification deserves your full attention — here's everything laid out in one place, from eligibility and pay scale to the exam pattern and the exact steps to apply.

Recruitment Overview

This drive is being run entirely by UKSSSC for departments that fall outside the purview of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission. Here's the snapshot every applicant should know before going further.

The recruitment covers four broad designations — Lekhakar (Accountant), Sahayak Lekhakar (Assistant Accountant), Karyalaya Sahayak-Tritiya (Lekha), and Cashier cum Sahayak Lekhakar — spread across bodies such as UPCL, PTCUL, UJVNL, the Tourism Development Board, Jal Sansthan, several District Treasuries, and the Directorate of Departmental Accounts. Before you dive into the application, it also helps to double-check your eligibility using a government job age calculator so there's no confusion about the cut-off date.

Vacancy & Pay Details

The 379 posts are distributed department-wise, and each post carries its own pay level. Here is the complete category-wise breakup as released in the notification.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Qualification requirements differ slightly by post, so read carefully before applying:

  • Lekhakar (Accountant): B.Com with MBA (Finance), or B.Com with PGDBA (Finance), or M.Com, along with a minimum of 5 years' relevant post-qualification experience in a government, semi-government, or reputed private organisation, plus at least 3 years served in the grade immediately below the post applied for.
  • Sahayak Lekhakar (most departments): Graduation in Commerce (with Accountancy as a subject, 2nd division or above), a computer competency certificate, and Hindi/English typing speed of 4,000 key depressions per hour.
  • Karyalaya Sahayak-Tritiya (Lekha): B.Com with strong command of Hindi (Devanagari script), Hindi typing of at least 6,000 KDPH, English typing of at least 7,000 KDPH, and a minimum one-year computer diploma/certificate.
  • Cashier cum Sahayak Lekhakar: B.Com or an equivalent qualification, along with working knowledge of petty cash books and basic accounting.

Since exact combinations vary by department, it's worth comparing this role against similar government finance jobs — for context on pay parity, see how it stacks up against SSC CGL, IBPS PO, and SBI PO salaries.

Selection Process

Selection rests on a single-stage written test, backed by document verification. There's no interview involved.

  • Stage 1: Offline objective-type written competitive examination.
  • Stage 2: Qualifying typing test (only for posts that require it).
  • Stage 3: Document/record verification of category, age, and experience proofs.

Merit is built purely from the written exam score, so focused preparation matters far more than anything else here. Sharpening your general awareness alongside the core subject can help — a weekly current affairs quiz is a simple daily habit worth building.

Exam Pattern

SubjectQuestionsMarksDuration
Commerce, Business Administration & Accountancy1001002 hours

Marking Scheme

  • Every question carries 4 answer options; pick the single best answer.
  • A wrong answer attracts a negative marking of ¼ of the marks allotted to that question.
  • Marking more than one option for a question is treated as wrong and penalised the same way, even if one of the choices is correct.
  • Unattempted questions carry no penalty.
  • Unreserved/OBC candidates need a minimum of 45% marks to qualify; SC/ST candidates need a minimum of 35%.

The syllabus broadly spans Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Financial Management, Money & Banking, Business Organisation & Management, Business Economics & Statistics, Auditing, Taxation (Income Tax & GST), and Business Laws — with current affairs in commerce and trade also considered part of the syllabus.

How to Apply

  1. Visit the official UKSSSC recruitment portal and register using your Aadhaar number (one Aadhaar can be used only once).
  2. Complete registration with your personal details, mobile number, and a valid email ID — keep these safe for future logins.
  3. Fill in educational qualification, experience, and category details in the online form.
  4. Upload a recent passport-size colour photograph, signature, and left-thumb impression in the specified size and format.
  5. Upload your High School certificate and both sides of your Aadhaar card for identity verification.
  6. Also upload category/reservation certificates and experience certificates wherever applicable.
  7. Pay the requisite application fee online via card, net banking, or UPI.
  8. Review the entire form carefully, click Submit, and save/print the final application for your records.

Since document uploads are strict on file size, it can save you a lot of frustration to compress your photo and signature to the required size beforehand. Once you're through the process, keeping a strong resume ready is never wasted effort for whatever comes next in your career.

Reservation Policy

As per current Uttarakhand government orders, horizontal and vertical reservation is applied as follows: SC 19%, ST 4%, OBC 14%, and EWS 10% (vertical); women 30%, ex-servicemen 5%, freedom-fighter dependents 2%, divyang 4%, orphans 5%, skilled sportspersons 4%, and state-agitation-affected candidates 10% (horizontal, within respective categories).

Domicile & Registration Requirement

Applicants must be permanent residents of Uttarakhand and registered with a Rozgar Karyalaya (Employment Exchange) in the state before the closing date, along with having passed High School and Intermediate (or equivalent) from an institution recognised within Uttarakhand.

One Application Rule

Candidates can submit only one online application per post; multiple applications for the same post will all be cancelled. If you spot an error before the closing date, you can cancel your submitted form and reapply, but the earlier fee will not be refunded or adjusted.

Preparing well ahead of such large-scale drives also opens doors elsewhere — it may help to browse current bank job openings or brush up on commonly asked interview questions and answers for the stages that follow document verification.

Frequently Asked Questions

There are 379 vacancies in total across Lekhakar, Sahayak Lekhakar, Karyalaya Sahayak-Tritiya (Lekha), and Cashier cum Sahayak Lekhakar posts.

The online application window closes on 15 August 2026. A correction window follows from 18 to 20 August 2026.

Candidates must be between 21 and 42 years as on 1 July 2026 for most posts, and 18 to 42 years for the Assistant Accountant/Junior Auditor post under Jal Sansthan. Standard age relaxations apply for reserved categories.

Selection is based on a single offline objective-type written examination, followed by a qualifying typing test for applicable posts and document verification.

The fee is ₹300 for Unreserved/OBC candidates and ₹150 for SC/ST/EWS/Divyang candidates. Orphan candidates are exempted from the fee.

The written examination is scheduled to be held on or before 12 October 2026; the exact date and admit card will be notified on the official UKSSSC website.

The written test has 100 objective-type questions worth 100 marks, to be completed in 2 hours, covering Commerce, Business Administration, and Accountancy, with a ¼ mark negative penalty for each wrong answer.

Conclusion

With 379 posts on offer and a comparatively straightforward single-exam selection process, this UKSSSC drive is one of the more accessible commerce-graduate opportunities to come out of Uttarakhand this year. The window is tight — barely three weeks from the opening date to the closing date — so it pays to get your documents, photo, and signature ready well before 15 August 2026 rather than rushing at the last moment.
