Every year Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts entrance exams for the recruitment of large number of candidates for various posts in different departments. For this year, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) released the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam of Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3.   • General Intelligence & Reasoning : It has the questions of both verbal and non-verbal. It has the questions on Analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc.
  • General Awareness : Question of this type will be aimed to test the general awareness of candidates around him. It will be conducted to test the knowledge of scientific aspects, current events.   • Numerical Aptitude : The questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The scope of the test will be the computation of whole numbers, decimals and fractions and relationships between numbers.
  • English Comprehension : Candidates ability to understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc would be tested. Questions will be asked from error recognition, Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Synonyms, Antonyms, fill in the blanks, Sentence Structure, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, one word substitution, conversion into direct/indirect narration, shuffling of sentence parts, shuffling of sentences, improvement of sentences, active/passive voice of verbs etc.
Pattern For SSC CGL Syllabus 2016 Tier 2 :


Combined Graduate Level Examination Tier II is an Objective Type Multiple Choice. Questions will be from Arithmetic Ability - 200 Questions for 200 marks ; English Language & Comprehension - 200 Questions for 200 marks ; Commerce/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Economics - 200 Questions for 200 marks. Total Duration/ Timing for General candidates is 2 hours. Total Duration/Timing for Visually Handicapped candidates is 2 hours 40 minutes.
